Over the weekend, a significant operation by federal authorities led to the dismantling of a major criminal network linked to the Jalisco New Generation Cartel (CJNG), resulting in the arrest of 20 individuals across Hidalgo, Jalisco, and Michoacán. This operation is poised to impact daily life for citizens, as it aims to reduce violence and criminal activity, fostering a safer environment for communities nationwide.
The joint effort involved simultaneous raids on 36 properties, showcasing the collaborative work of the Security Ministry, the Defense Ministry, the Navy, the Federal Attorney General’s Office, and the National Guard. Authorities confiscated a range of weapons, including firearms, along with drugs and exotic animals, such as tigers and panthers, kept in poor conditions.
Besides illegal wildlife, the operation also uncovered a variety of vehicles, cash, jewelry, and advanced communication devices. This swift action highlights the ongoing commitment of the Government of Mexico to dismantle criminal organizations that threaten public safety.
Following the arrests, the detainees were transferred via a Mexican Navy aircraft to the Attorney General’s Office in Mexico City for further investigation. Security Minister Omar García Harfuch emphasized that the objective of these operations is not only to capture individuals generating violence but also to systematically weaken the capabilities of criminal bodies.
In the past week alone, security forces apprehended a total of 32 suspected members of the CJNG, illustrating a concerted effort to address the issue of organized crime. This focus on coordinated intelligence and proactive measures is designed to enhance public safety and uphold the rule of law in our communities.
