Aeroméxico has announced an exciting new direct flight connecting Mexico City with Milan, Italy, set to launch in spring 2027. This direct route from the Mexico City International Airport (AICM) to Milan-Malpensa Airport (MXP) will bring significant benefits for travelers, reducing the need for layovers in the United States and several European countries.
Milan-Malpensa serves as a major hub for both business and leisure travelers, providing easy access to northern Italy and beyond, thanks to its convenient rail connection to Milano Centrale. By offering this route, Aeroméxico aims to not only enhance travel options for Mexicans but also strengthen ties between Mexico and Italy.
While specific details such as weekly frequencies, flight days, and fares have yet to be announced, the airline is positioned to be the only one in Mexico connecting Mexico City to two key Italian destinations, joining its existing service to Rome-Fiumicino. This initiative reflects the growing interest among travelers, as data from the Mexican Tourism Ministry shows a notable increase in arrivals from Italy, rising by 13.7% to over 102,000 visitors last year.
If granted the necessary governmental approvals, this new flight will also create opportunities for travelers from other regions of Mexico to connect with Milan through Mexico City, keeping their journey within the Aeroméxico network. The excitement surrounding this development underscores a commitment to enhancing international connectivity and fostering cultural exchange between the two nations.
