Harry Styles’ six concerts in Mexico City, starting this Friday and running through August 10, are poised to greatly impact the local economy, with projections indicating an injection of over 2 billion pesos, equivalent to around 120 million dollars. This economic boost will primarily stem from ticket sales, which are expected to account for more than 80% of the revenue, followed by spending on lodging, food, and transportation as fans flock to the city.
The hospitality sector stands to gain significantly, with anticipated revenues from accommodations expected to exceed 299.7 million pesos. This surge in visitors, both local and international, is set to enrich neighborhoods around the GNP Seguros Stadium, where the events will take place. Similarly, the local food service industry is forecasted to benefit from approximately 156 million pesos in spending as concertgoers dine out in nearby restaurants and cafés.
Ticketmaster Mexico reports that around 60% of attendees will be traveling to Mexico City for the shows, typically staying two to three nights. This influx of visitors is expected to revitalize the capital’s tourism sector as well as related industries. Vicente Gutiérrez Camposeco, head of the National Chamber of Commerce in Mexico City, noted that the economic benefits from such events ripple throughout the community, impacting hotels, restaurants, and many small and medium-sized businesses that play a role in supporting this surge in tourism.
Notably, Mexico City is among seven cities worldwide chosen for Styles’ 2026 residency, and it will host the most concerts in the region. The concerts are expected to attract more than 400,000 fans, with a demographic composition highlighting that about 60% will be women and 35% under the age of 25.
The phenomenon surrounding Harry Styles’ concerts further cements Mexico City’s reputation as a leading destination for entertainment tourism in Latin America. It not only brings cultural festivities but also acts as a catalyst for economic development, job creation, and the strengthening of the creative economy, reinforcing the vibrant life of the city.
